I know mom is anxiously awaiting these photos of her beautiful new babe and his big sister, and I can’t wait for her to see them! Baby H was so alert when I arrived. I would guess he slept for maybe 20 minutes the whole time I was there? We took advantage of his awake time to capture some great sibling moments and family interactions though. And then worked those 20 minutes for the sleepy baby shots.

I can’t not include this one. As soon as I arrived, dad pulled out this onesie and mom quickly gave me “the look” …the one that means, “please do not photograph my baby in this”. But then mom was in the other room and the onesie came back out. Of course, I said yes
In the end, mom was holding the flag up in the background of this picture, giggling that she couldn’t believe she was actually helping with this!

or you know someone who has a 4 month old or you’re pregnant and will someday have a 4 month old, please, I beg you- schedule a photo session asap!
I am finding that I can not take enough pictures of Cormac right now. This is just such a fun age filled with a new discovery every day- watching him grab his little toes and rock back and forth with a huge smile on his face just KILLS me. So. freaking. sweet! The slurping on hands or sometimes just 3 fingers. Gigantic gummy grins, puckered up fish lips…the drool. Swoon. Working so hard to lift up his head from his tummy. Half rolling over from his back to his tummy but not all the way because he’s too chubby for that
. And speaking of the chub- delicious!! Yes, there is so much to capture at this age!!

I don’t know how it’s happened, but he’s almost 4 months old already. He brings so so much joy to our family. He brings out the best in Aidric..he’s the sweetest, most helpful and protective older brother ever when Cormac is around. And I don’t dare wake up Juliet from a nap without him in my arms. If she just sees me, all I get is a grouchy sass. But, when I lay him down next to her and tell her I’m waking her up b/c he missed her, she immediately throws her arms around him and says, “It’s OK Cormac, I’m right here buddy”. His sweet baby breath, happy coos and warm cuddles have turned me into a complete softy when it comes to parenting. I’m working hard to get him to sleep better right now, but finding it hard not to sabotage my own efforts by getting him up and bringing him into bed to snuggle with me!
He’s a sweet one alright. We are so lucky to have him.

There were a lot of fun things about this session, but the most fun thing is how much these 2 kiddos remind me of my own. The first thing Dave said to me when they got out of the car was that Colin was “in a mood”. Hmm, sounds kind of like the one I left at home
Then little miss blondie got of the car and I thought, yep, kind of like mine!

We had fun hiking around this gorgeous park and stayed until sunset to capture the beautiful images of mom and kids at the end. It turns out the park doesn’t actually stay open until sunset though. Oops. Thanks for being good sports and scaling the fence with me to get out guys
I’m not going to lie, I took a picture of Cherie on her way over with a skirt on, but I’ll save that for the private gallery!

A beautiful family and a beautiful setting makes for some beautiful maternity shots! I met up with this sweet family of 3 at the Trump Golf Course on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. We enjoyed the 10 minute hike down to the beach and captured these images of their family on the way. Can’t wait to meet the newest addition in January! Stay tuned

I love how decked out and just FANCY this family looked in their holiday best! I also love that at these ages, little girls actually like getting their picture taken. So fun!

What a lucky guy!

After we got some fancy formal shots out of the way, the girls both changed into what I like to call their “sassy” outfits and had some fun climbing trees and swinging!

They all kind of like each other, can you tell?

As a photographer, when you get a good looking, well dressed family who is up for anything AND they have kids who listen AND you can tell how much they all love being together, well…you’ve hit the jackpot
I know I had a great time during this session and I’m pretty sure they did too! We hit up two great Redondo Beach locations and while there was some posing and I did make some requests, I really tried my best to just let the kids have fun and play a lot. There was swinging and tossing kids in the air, balancing on a log, picking flowers for mom and lots of tickling. We even fit in a few running races down the pier and ice cream at the end! Who said a photo session had to be boring???

That’s one love for each of them. I should have added an extra for getting a picture of all four of them that I love too!

It was interesting to be doing a newborn session right now, with my own little guy just one month old. I was a little nervous after Cormac had given me such a hard time. The minute I walked in, I knew I had worried for no reason. Damien was just laying on his back in the pack n’ play, completely chill. Just laying there, not needing or wanting anything. This is something Cormac does not have any experience in
So, I figured then that this would be relatively easy. What I didn’t count on was Damien falling asleep the minute we wanted to get started and then posing himself for half the session. He was a dream!!
Here he is “chilling” on the afghan his grandma crocheted for him.

My favorite.

LOVE sweet little baby feet.

And I truly love mom and baby images – these are quickly becoming my very favorite type of newborn shot. I really believe that these are the images we will come back to in years to come and truly cherish.

It’s taken me a little while to get these pictures edited and up on the blog, but I’m so excited to introduce our new little man. He is quite possibly the cutest, sweetest, squishiest, cuddliest, most amazing newborn in the world. No, I’m not at all biased
What he is NOT though…is easy to take pictures of. He made me work harder than any newborn I’ve ever done a session with!! Over an hour just to get him to sleep and fussing every single time I tried to move him. Thankfully my mom was here to keep the older 2 entertained once I got him to sleep!
6 days old:

10 days old- I had the house to myself with just Cormac, so we snapped a few on Aidric’s new comforter. Definitely should have ironed it first, but I have a 10 day old…that’s a great excuse for not ironing, right?

12 days old- just one because I picked up a new fun blanket. I didn’t even try to get him to sleep for this!
